Learn How You Can Build and Nurture Thriving Relationships with Your Children
with Delphine Ang
Certified Youth Leadership & Youth Mentor Coach, Certified Brain Health Coach
Dear parents,
I'm Delphine, a mother of four,
aged between 4 and 22 years old.

As a fellow parent navigating the often challenging balance between work, family commitments, and the aspirations we hold for our children, I truly understand the journey you are on. It’s clear you deeply care about providing the best for your children and ensuring they succeed in every way possible.

In our quest to offer the best schools and opportunities, it can sometimes feel like despite our best intentions, a gap widens between us and our children. They might seem distant or upset, reacting in ways that leave us wondering if we've somehow missed the mark. I want to reassure you that it’s not too late to bridge this gap.

Many of us have faced moments where our children appeared unreachable—disrespectful or withdrawn. These are not reflections of your failures but signals that it's time for a new approach, one filled with understanding, patience, and renewed connections.

This is why I'm reaching out to invite you to an event that could change the course of your family life: Thriving Families, Thriving Children, taking place from  5 - 7 Aug 2024, 8 - 9.30 pm (SGT). It’s more than a masterclass; it’s an opportunity for parents like us who are seeking to reforge bonds and understand our children better than ever before.

Here’s what you can expect from this journey:
Empathetic Communication: Learn to speak and listen in ways that your children not only hear but feel compelled to open up. Discover how to turn everyday conversations into bridges of trust and understanding.

Managing Emotions Together: We’ll explore strategies to help your children manage their intense emotions, as well as your own responses. It’s about creating a calm, supportive environment where everyone feels secure.

Finding Your Balance: Gain insights into balancing the demands of being a part of the 'sandwich generation', ensuring you can care for both your children and elder family members without losing sight of your own needs.

Restoring Respect and Appreciation: Understand the root causes of disrespect and withdrawal and how to address them positively, helping your children feel valued and appreciated.

This masterclass is a chance to learn, grow, and transform not just your parenting approach, but your entire family dynamic. Your role in your children’s lives is irreplaceable, and the impact of this experience could be profound.

I know your time is precious, and I promise an experience that respects your commitment and enriches your family life in ways that are meaningful and lasting.

My Story ... my journey
From broken to breakthrough

I was a dedicated mother and entrepreneur, juggling the responsibilities of raising three young children while building a business from the comfort of my home. Life was hectic with endless activities and challenges, but I managed to survive.

However, in 2016, my world came crashing down when my first-born child attempted suicide at the tender age of 14. I was overcome with shame and guilt. I felt I had failed as a mother. I never felt lonelier ... that night at the hospital, I prayed for strength and peace and most of all, I cried, "God, do not let my pain go to waste."  There at the hospital, I saw other children who were victims of child abuse. Their suffering touched me deeply, and I felt a strong call to action. I realized that I wanted to help build strong families, enabling parents to connect with their children and their emotions, preventing such heart-wrenching scenarios.

Since then, I was relentlessly seeking out knowledge and skills, getting certified as a Youth Leadership and Youth Mentor Coach, as well as a Brain Health Professional. I was even nominated for and won a course on the Neuroscience of Coaching, which further honed my skillsets.

Soon, I started coaching, giving talks in schools, churches and organisations on emotional and mental wellbeing, positive parenting and empowerment.  Clients came to me through friends and referrals.

My first client was a young man, initially lost and argumentative with his lecturers, switched his course after three coaching sessions and later made the Dean's List. Another client, who resisted coaching for two years, overcame severe anxiety and graduated with first-class honours within a year.

Personally, I have journeyed with my daughter – going from a challenging, suicidal teen who dropped out of school, estranged from family to getting a scholarship, finding her passion, healing and rebuilding her relationship with our family.

With my youngest three-year-old daughter, I have learnt to identify her emotional needs, helped her do that for herself (yes, even at her tender age), regulate her emotions and increase her level of empathy.

Come join me in Thriving Families Thriving Children masterclass and I will share with you, personal stories, effective tips and strategies from working with parents and families, as well as youths.

"Thank you for the fruitful and heart-warming sessions. My daughter used some of the techniques and tools you shared to help her cope with exam stress. Thank you also for planting seeds into my younger daughter, affirming her. We are very thankful for your guidance. My elder daughter loves the worksheets you have created for them."

Curtis Koh
23 years old, on Dean's List in NUS after a year of working with Delphine

"Without Delphine's help, I don't think I could be where I am today. Last year I was overworked and constantly at odds with my lecturers ... For a long time, I was very unhappy and unclear what I really wanted in my life. Come Delphine's intervention, I began to work out what really stopped me from living the way I wanted. She never spelled out for me, she simply guided me to my tangle of thoughts to their source. Through the techniques and guidance she has offered me, I am empowered to control my thoughts and habits ... and build healthy positive relationships."

Max Koh
22 years old who graduated with First Class Honours

"Before seeing Delphine, I was overwhelmed and uncertain when it came to my studies and my future. Her ability to listen, empathise and ask thought-provoking questions allowed me to gain clarity and perspective. Her unwavering belief and encouragement helped me identify my strengths, set achievable goals, and persevere through moments of doubt ... Thanks to Delphine, I not only graduated with First Class honours but have personally grown beyond my initial expectations. I recommend Delphine to young people seeking guidance & clarity in their personal, academic or professional life."

Clara Soon
Mother and grandmother
